Last night I was asked to write blog on english lessons specifically among malay students, adults who are very eager to learn it from another malay teacher i.e., myself.

Ok. I take that as a challenge. Let us start.

There are few steps to begin. First make sure you have a 'good' dictionary. I prefer english - english dictionary .. but if you have english - malay it is also alright. Don't worry.

First, you must know some words like sun (matahari), moon (bulan), book (buku) and teachers (guru-guru). Without knowing these basic words called 'nouns' it is hard to construct a sentence.

Second, there is some grammar to follow. By learning grammar , our sentence looks OK to other readers especially from Britain or USA.

There are 3 important grammar called tenses. Present Tense, Past Tense and Future Tense.

Lets see one of them today. Present Tense. This is used when we are talking a general fact as agreed by all people in the world such as:

a) The sun rises from the east . [ rises = terbit, muncul; east = timur ]
b) The sun sets in the west . [ sets = terbenam di ; west = barat ]
c) Teachers are all humans . [ teachers = guru-guru ; humans = manusia seperti anda semua]
d) All humans die . [ human = manusia; die = mati, meninggal dunia ]

See all these sentences talk on something very true and not only the English knows the sun that rises from the east , in fact my communities in Kelantan knows this too. So does the fact that we humans will die one day.
