Be a good teacher in Year 2012

Posted by sazali

Salam.

I heard you got the offer to be an English teacher this Monday 16th Jan 2012.  Congratulation !!

So what next?

Of course , you are going to take it , right?  The offer I mean.  Nowadays, jobs are a rare thing to come by.  What more if you are just a malay lady.  If you don;t believe me, just ask those who are hunting for jobs and went for so many interviews. Without success?

Don't worry teaching is a rewarding career.  Believe me!  I was a teacher too .. in SM Tumpat and SM Kota in Kelantan.  Happy me?  Yes.  No doubts about that.  If I were to be young again, I would like to be a teacher.  Yes..any time mate!

Here some guides for you so that you will be happy being a teacher from day 1 to day 'nth'.

Step 1:  Say Alhamdulilah.  Thanks God for this nikmat.  Read Al-Fatihah and Yaseen. Pray  that this is goin to give you goodness in the days, weeks, months and years to come.  May you stay happy with teaching as the source of halal income. Ameen.  usually i pray 2 rakkats of Sembahyang Sunat Syukur.

Step 2:  try to talk nicely to others.  Listen their opinions first b4 you give yours. The most important person to listen is the Head Teacher/ Headmaster/ Principal.
when talking , think hard and say next.  Think harder and say next.  Think the hardest and say next.  In sum, think first b4 u open your mouth.
Step 3:  don't park your small car any where near the place where your BIG BOSS park his.  So did his assistants like Head Department Languages, Head DEpartment Social Sciences etc etc.

Step 4:   don't try to cross the Head Teacher's office at any instance of the day unless you are called into his office.  If you cross that prohibited place, i think u r going to run into trouble.  Your name will always be mentioned by the heads.  So beware!

Step 5:  learn to say NO politely.  Many teachers have died prematurely when they took all kinds of jobs that they were not fit to do at all.   I think I better give you one good example.  There was a teacher .. he was partially blind on his left eye.  One day .. his Headteacher instructed him to ferry the netball team to the other school that was 20 miles away.  The school netball team had a match with the famous team in that state.  Being so blind, when the heavy rain came some where along the journey , what more the wipers suddenly went mad (so badly maintained) ..  they caught an accident with a buffalo.  Every body was saved except the teacher.  Bad!! why? he died young - he was not brave enough to tell the truth . It was so simple to say " I am partially blind SIR .. can you pick some one else plz"?

Step 6:  try to be nice to your staff but plz be strict to your students.

Step 7:  Don't buy a new car yet until you have completed a year of service. Simple?

Buying a new car like INSPIRA after teaching a mere - a week , it gives a good signal to the school..that you can be that next poor blind teacher .. who suddenly die in the rain unnecessarily (please refer the above story).  Yes you gonna be the next school driver for the netball team.  he..he.. Laugh.

Ok .  I think that is all for today.  Good luck  ..  my girl.  And Good Luck to all  your other friends in Cyberjaya, Malaysia  tomorrow 16 Jan 2012.  You must be lucky, really!  Happy Teaching lah..

Wallahu aklam.
